Shu-Ching Wu is a watercolor artist who brings the world to life with vibrant colors. Her artistic journey began with a serendipitous encounter. One day, while walking near National Taiwan Normal University, a watercolor painting caught her eye. In that moment, a deep longing took root—a desire to express her emotions and thoughts through the stroke of a brush. From then on, she embarked on the path of watercolor painting, extending her passion into the realm of teaching.
To Shu-Ching Wu, watercolor is more than just a medium; it is a world full of infinite possibilities. The fusion of pigment and water creates ever-changing effects, while the interplay of light and objects introduces endless variations. She views painting as an exploration—not merely capturing what is seen but perceiving the interaction of pigment, water, light, and subjects through the inner eye.
Her works convey the colors of emotion, the shifting light in her vision, and a profound observation of the world around her. Every brushstroke is an expression of feeling, a reflection of her keen perception of the world. Her paintings serve as a mirror of the soul, inviting viewers to experience her emotions and thoughts through the canvas.
